Accidental Affects
This wasn't at all what I was going for when I took this picture, but I think it's interesting enough to put up. I'm not sure, but I think I had my flash on, and through a complete fluke I took my shot just as the wedding photograph (who had umbrellas set up) took one. Since his was so much more powerful, when it fired it provided the major illumination for the scene. Amazingly, the exposure was still rock solid.

Urban Scenery
Following my aim to keep my eyes open over the weekend, I explored a parking lot near the reception of the wedding we were attending. (I had spare time...) I think this might have been a little bit stronger if I had taken a few steps to the left, so the wall on the left had a bit of an angle to it. (perspective, and all that)
Rolling hills of...?
You wouldn't think this picture was taken smack-dab in the middle of one of the largest population centers in Virginia. You also wouldn't think that it was taken from about two miles away... but it was. This was actually across Richmond, taken from the 15th floor or so of the downtown Marriott, with a 250mm(ish) zoom lens. It was early in the morning on an overcast day, and the clouds and haze from the long distance created the dreamy countryside affect. I had no idea what kind of picture I was going to take, I just mounted the telephoto lens and started looking around at what was outside the window. Note to self: Keep eyes open more often!
